  • UK employers are legally required under the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 to provide training for staff engaging in hazardous manual handling that cannot be avoided. Training must cover risk factors, safe lifting techniques, proper use of mechanical aids, and, ideally, include practical, job-specific assessments.

Our Manual Handling Training Course covers how to lift, carry, push, pull, or move loads safely to prevent injury (especially backs, shoulders, knees).

    Topics included:

    • What manual handling is (and why it matters).

    • Common injuries & risk factors.

    • Assessing risks (load, individual, task, environment).

    • Correct lifting technique (posture, grip, movement).

    • Using mechanical aids (trolleys, hoists, etc.).

    • Team lifting.

    • Employer & employee responsibilities (H&S).

    Who it’s for:

    • Construction & warehouse staff.

    • Healthcare & care workers.

    • Office workers (yes — even desks and boxes count).

    • Anyone who lifts or moves objects at work

    Training format:

    • In-person practical session.

    Benefits:

    • Reduced injuries & sick leave.

    • Legal compliance.

    • Safer, more confident staff.

  • Face fit testing is a mandatory, legal requirement under COSHH regulations ensuring that tight-fitting respiratory protective equipment (RPE)—such as FFP3, half-mask, or full-face respirators—forms an adequate, leak-free seal against the wearer's face.

Conducted by a competent person, tests verify that specific masks match the user's unique facial features, as up to 50% of RPE fails to provide proper protection due to poor fit.

As a qualified tester, we can provide this service.
